Terms and Conditions
Thank you for booking with us, we look forward to seeing you on the date of your booking.
When filling out our booking form you have agreed to our Terms & Conditions, The listed conditions in this hire agreement have been carefully constructed to ensure your party or event passes safely without any injuries or damage to the inflatable. The terms are as follows:
1. A responsible adult must supervise the inflatable at all times when in use.
2. Please do not allow to Children to climb on side walls, roof or high up areas as this increases the risk of a fall. Rough play increases the risk of accidents.
3. The front step is to aid users getting on and off, it is not for bouncing as users could be knocked off.
4. Shoes and Sharp objects such as jewellery and belts need to be removed. Shoes can leave a permanent rubber mark and Jewellery can cause damage to the inflatable. It is recommended spectacles are removed if possible.
5. No food or drink on the Bouncy Castle. To remove the risk of choking or slipping we ask for no food or drink on the inflatable. Please leave the inflatable as you found it for the next user.
6. Streamers, Confetti, face paint, party poppers and silly string can all Permanently stain a bouncy castle, we ask for them not to be used. We have suffered with this issue previously when the colouring dye in confetti got wet and stained ink marks all over a bouncy castle. Any damage occurred through neglecting this rule may result in you being billed for replacement panels.
7. Each inflatable has the maximum number of users and user height marked on it, it is the hirers responsibility to keep tabs on this.
8. To avoid injuries do not overcrowd the Bouncy castle or have kids with large age gaps playing on it at once, Adults are only allowed on children's Bouncy Castle to assist them.
9. Please keep children away from the bouncy castle fan at the back of the inflatable, occasionally check and ensure it does not get blocked by leaves/bags etc as this will reduce the pressure of the inflatable.
10. Please ensure the mats are kept around the step of the inflatable at all times.
11. Inflatables are not to be used in the rain as they become slippery when wet, electrical appliances are present to power the inflatable. If it does rain it is best to leave the Bouncy castle inflated so rain water runs off it, once it has stopped you are welcome to towel dry the remaining water before play commences. Whilst most bouncy castles have a shower cover over the main bouncing area, the entrance/exit step is open to the elements.
12. Expectant mothers, anyone with a heart conditions or any pre-existing medical conditions (for example back or neck problems) must not use the equipment.
13. Bounce About Castles accept no responsibility for accidents or injuries through misuse or rough play. Our Public Liability Insurance covers injuries caused from improper set up or equipment failure, therefore we are not liable for accidents caused by improper or negligent supervision, overcrowding, rough play etc. We have a list of H&S guidelines for you to follow to avoid any accidents. Accidents are very rare.
14. The hirer is responsible for the equipment whilst in their presence and is therefore held liable for any damage to it or loss including future booking revenue. If the inflatable is damaged through misuse or stained we may seek the cost or repair.
15. If you have paid a deposit when booking and have an outstanding balance, we only accept cash on delivery. This is due to us having to chase up customers long after the event and service has been provided. We can send payment details across when requested.
16. WEATHER PERMITTING: All booking are weather permitting and if the conditions are unsafe we reserve the right to cancel. In the event heavy rain or strong wind Gusts 24mph or above under the Health and Safety guidelines we are governed by we are not allowed to put any inflatables outdoor. This is the LAW for all companies hiring inflatables out and we can be prosecuted if we ignore this and an accident occurs. If the forecast is close to the limit and your garden is sheltered we may be able to bring an anemometer (this measures the wind speed) to your garden/site and check, this is often the case as the forecast isn't localised so its not always correct. If the wind unexpectedly gets worse whilst you are supervising the bouncy castle please do not take any risks and turn it off. Please note: in Large open areas such as sports fields winds above 20mph may be unsafe due to their being no shelter from the wind.
17. ANCHORAGE: If you would like your bouncy castle outdoors it has to go on grass, this is so we can anchor it down with long 380mm pegs (it is your responsibility to ensure no services are presents underground within that depth) This is to ensure it does not tip over when children are bouncing or blow over with the wind. If you have artificial grass and we are not permitted to peg through it then please do not select grass on our booking form, if we cannot peg the inflatable down we unfortunately won't be able to leave it. Please do not book in before speaking to us if your garden is Artificial Grass, Concrete, Block paving etc. Under any circumstances do not try to drag or move the inflatable. This could cause damage to it and not leave the required clearance from walls/fences etc
18. Protective equipment : If you hire our gladiator duel / sumo suits etc please wear the safety equipment provided, this includes neck braces, headguards, helmets etc.
19. It is your responsibility to ensure the inflatable fits in your garden or venue. All measurements are listed for each inflatable, if you are unsure please contact us and we can advise on sizes, ceiling heights of most venues. Once the delivery vans are full we turn away bookings, if your inflatable doesn't fit you are liable for the full hire fee as its too late to hire that inflatable back out. A 12ft x 12ft bouncy castle needs clearance all around, for example an additional 3ft at the back for the fan pipe and 4ft at the front for mats.
20. All deposits are transferrable but non refundable. Our Card transaction company charge us a transaction fee on each booking that is non refundable.
Garden Access
We also ask our customers to please ensure the access to and from the area where the bouncy castle is going is not restricted with objects, bins / cars etc.
Bouncy castles are heavy (50-200kg) and need to be moved on a sack barrow, we typically need at least a 3ft wide gap to get it through. If there are any steps or areas we may need to lift the inflatable please make us aware. We would also like to know if it's a long walk to get to the area where the inflatable is going so we can allow adequate time for setting up.
The area the castle will be anchored down needs to be free from sharp objects and animal foul.
Please be polite to our staff when they are collecting the Bouncy Castle, remember they are collecting it at time you asked for it to be collected at.
Booking Terms & Refund Policy
From 2017 we have offered an online booking service and an option to check our availability online.
Deposits / Booking Fees
To book through our website you are required to pay a booking fee, this is deducted from the hire fee balance, is it not an additional cost. Booking fees are non-refundable as they cover the transaction cost we are charged when you book. These fees are non-refundable to us from our card provider square.
Most bookings fees are £10-15 however larger items can be up to £25.
Cancellations
The Bouncy castle industry is very hit and miss, it's weather permitting (Not the best business to be in whilst living in sunny England) and is very seasonal, nobody wants one outdoors in December when its cold and dark at 4pm. Children are at school Monday to Friday so most customers wait until the weekend to host their child's Birthday party. This means other than the school holidays we typically have only four weekends or 8 days per month where we have bookings, this doesn't leave us with many days to cover our business overheads such as our large industrial storage unit or our own personal overheads, mortgage etc. With this in mind we ask for as much notice as possible when cancelling so we can try to hire the inflatable back out to someone else, most customers book 2-3 weeks in advance minimum.
If you cancel within a week of your event date it is very unlikely we will be able to hire the inflatable back out. We operate 2-3 vans depending on the time of year, each van holds 5-8 inflatables and they are often fully booked up for 4-6 weeks in advance through summer, this means once a van hits 5 bookings we have to turn excess customers away. If a customer cancels a week prior to their date that frees up the van space but if we are unable to fill it at such short notice we are within or rights to keep payment unless a valid reason has been given.
Cancellations due to poor weather. If the wind gusts are 24mph+ or it is forecast heavy rain we may need to cancel. In this instance we may offer a refund minus the booking fee (typically £5-£10, booking fees cover the transaction fees we are charged by Paypal/Worldpay when you book etc) or ask if you wish to move dates / have a credit note on file. We fully appreciate it's not much fun having a bouncy castle when it's cold or wet, 90% of the inflatables do have shower covers to help keep drizzle / light showers out and indoor venues are available too. We will contact customers in the week leading up to your event if the forecast is showing poor weather conditions.
