Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do i book a bouncy castle from Bounce About Castles?
A: To hire a bouncy castle from us you can contact us via many platforms. We have both a twitter and facebook account, landline and mobile number and also a contact us form on this very site. To reduce the risk of hoax bookings we will need to speak to you over the phone to confirm the booking.
Q: How much notice is required to book a Bouncy Castle?
A: No notice is required to hire a castle from us, over the years we have had many same day bookings from parents who have been let down by another company. We advise our customers to book early as the later you leave it the chances of a particular castle already being booked out do increase or we may not be able to meet the times you require.
Q: How are the Castles powered?
A: Our Castles are run off Electrical fans that use 1.1 kw of electricity per hour, this equates to approximately 20p per hour at peak times. Electrical points are required near to where you wish the castle to be anchored down. If the electrical point exceeds 25 meters from where the castle will be please notify us when booking.
Q: Are you reliable?
A: As a family run business we each have a diary so bookings are not missed. For most jobs we prefer to deliver early as its better safe than sorry. In all our years of operation we have not missed a booking or turned up late to the venue.
Q: Do i set the castle up or need to do anything?
A: Your Castle will be set up and collected by us at the specified times when booking. All we ask you to do when booking is make us aware of any access issues to your property and the surface the Castle will be situated on i.e Tight alleyways, needs taking through the house, concrete or grass surface. On the day of your hire we ask you to make sure the area the castle will be is clear of any dog foul or sharp objects.
Q: How long does it take you to set up and how much space will i need?
A: To fully set up a castle it typically takes around 10-15 minutes. The space required will vary for each castle, our website will show the width, length and height of each castle and also where the extra 3ft will be required for the fan.
Q: Do you have set delivery and collection times?
A: Here at Bounce About Castles we like to be as flexible as we can with our delivery and collection times so we do not have set hours. We will cater to your needs but in somes cases we may ask if we can deliver your Castle earlier or collect it later if our other bookings clash.
Q: What if it rains on the day, is it safe for us or can i cancel?
A: Whilst a lot of our castles do have rain covers it is not advisable to use them in heavy rain, however they will endure showers or light drizzle. Do not be fooled by rain covers as the rain does still get in through the sides or front of the castle. We do not charge a booking fee or cancellation fee as we operate on a cash on delivery basis. We ask all our customers to make us aware they wish to cancel as soon as they are aware themselves, this then gives us the opportunity to offer that castle to other customers.
Q: Are your Castles suitable for indoor use?
A: All of our small to medium size Castles can be used indoors and also a select few from our larger castles. We will need to be made aware it is an indoor hire at the time of booking so we can bring heavy sand bags to anchor the castle down. You will need to be aware of the ceiling height in your venue to ensure the castle will fit, if you are unsure please ask us as we may have had bookings at your indoor venue before.
Q: How many kids or adults can the castle hold and can i keep it overnight?
A: The number of people the castle will hold does vary per castle. We ask Adults not to use our Kids castles as the stitching is not as strong as it is on adult castles, you can get on to help your child but if several adults bounce on the castle it is a lot of weight for a kids castle as adults can weigh 3 times as much. We do offer overnight hire on selected castles but this comes at a cost of £20 and the castle will be collected early the next day so it is ready for hire again. Overnight hire is only available to customers with secure premises so is it safe.
Q: Can i charge people to use the Bouncy Castle?
A: You can charge people to use the Castle however you need to be careful not to overcrowd the castle in order to make more money. If you overcrowd the castle injuries are more likely to occur. For injuries liability see the questions below.
Q: Will i receive a discount if i book more than one castle or a selection of games?
A: We will always offer a discount if it guarantees more of our products going out the door. Please look at our Special Offers Page for our commonly used offers or contact us for a quote.
Q: Are your Castles safe and what happens if a child suffers an injury?
A: Our Castles are checked annualy to ensure they are safe for use and meet the latest health and saftey standards set. When we deliver a castle it will be anchored down with stakes or sandbags, mats will be placed at the entrance and exit point and an RCD Circuit Breaker will be used at the electrical point. Any electrical item we have will be PAT tested annually and we will supply you with some health and safety guidelines to adhere to. We do have Public Liability Insurance however as we are not supervising the Castle this only covers Incorrect Set Up or Installation and Equipment Failure. As you are hiring the Castle it is you who has to ensure it is supervised at all times and the health and safety guidelines are followed, if an injury occurs through rough play, overcrowding or poor supervision then it is the hirer who is liable.
Q: Can i have a confirmation email or invoice?
A: We can supply invoice and confirmation emails to customers if they provide us with an email address, we will only use it for that purpose and not pass it on to any other companies.
Q: Will it help if i let the Castle down before you arrive to collect it or if it rains?
A: While a deflated Castle is easier to roll we would appreciate it if you could leave the castle inflated. The rain pools together on a deflated Bouncy Castle and makes it very heavy and hard to roll, it also gives us the opportunity to see if any damage has been caused to the castle while its at your hire venue or if it requires cleaning.
